York Design week happened in October 2020. As part of it, a public exhibition called Alphabet Illuminate was hosted in the city’s museum gardens. I was invited to participate, being given the letter M.
As I felt that my letter had to resonate with the city’s history, I featured one of York’s most well-known daughters, St Maragret Clitherow. As there was a short deadline to do this, I completed the whole project in 24 hours. It was wonderful to be a tiny part of Alphabet Illuminate and York Design Week. Getting the opportunity one of the reformation’s most famous victims was a rare honour.
