As an experienced freelance graphic designer, there are many different situations when my services have been required. Read on to see if hiring a freelancer could benefit you in these situations.
- Holiday cover
Every year I work holiday cover at an agency, to fill in for a permanent staff member.
- Additional capacity
If you have a project, but not enough time to get the work done, bringing in a freelancer is your safest bet to ensure you meet a deadline.
- Expertise
A professional level of knowledge which isn’t within your current repertoire can be acquired via a freelance designer without a long-term commitment needed.
- Benefit to your business
If you need branding or communications design, such as a brochure, but don’t have the need for a full-time employee, a freelancer can provide this service.
- During a staff changeover
Logistically, navigating a staff changeover can be tough. The departing employee will be expected to leave swiftly. Recruiting the right replacement can take time. A freelance designer or art director can provide temporary relief when business needs to continue as usual.
It’s great to have someone on-call, ready for when any of the above situations arise, as great freelance designers are often booked up weeks or months in advance. Take a look at my work here, then get in touch at grace@abelldesign.co.uk and let me know how I can help.
